Austin is enjoying the Spring weather once again. We have braved yet another winter and now it is time to open our windows and enjoy our weather. Austin is recovering from the SXSW event and also we have enjoyed a very large amount of rain. We have suffered from a drought for years but this winter we have enjoyed a lot more rain than usual. The problem is the rain hasn't helped us to refill any of our lakes.
For once Austin has green leaves and green grass with all of the rain. While we still suffer from a severe drought the rain will ensure Austin has a great spring time this year and we should be able to enjoy all of the flowers that will be blooming. The city is also enjoying an economic boom with major road construction work to help improve our central Texas roads and new building going up for condos downtown. This spring will be a fun time in Austin and the residents will enjoy the many events to attend. Austin is known as the Music Capital of the World but also the city where everyone must be outdoors. In Austin you can enjoy the many walking trails, rivers and lakes. Austin is a community that likes to stay outside and enjoy the beauty this city has to offer. Spring is here and you can call tell with all of the joggers, walkers, bikers and more. We love a good winter here in Austin but perhaps Spring time is our most favorite. Austin is known for many spring time events for bands and festivals so be sure to check out our posts to keep up with the hustle and bustle of Austin. We also look forward to the many business sponsors and more to upcoming events such as http://www.danwhitesscreens.com/patio door in Austin Texas.

Once again we are saying goodbye to SXSW. The city was swarmed with a lot of people from many different counties. The people watching in Austin was better than watching people in Vegas! It can be hard on the locals as most of our treasured local spots are overrun with people and it makes it uncomfortable for us to do our usual thing. Then you have the bands playing until all hours of the night and most of the time in Austin you will find residential areas in the heart of the city so that music at all hours makes it difficult to get up and go to work the next morning.
As hard as all of that is for the locals we can't ignore the fact that the event brings in a ton of revenue! The local businesses have the biggest month and a lot of local shops depend on this event. The city is going the extra mile to make sure they have enough rules and regulations in place to make sure everyone stays safe. Last year a car driven by a drunk driver killed a person that was attending the event. This alone has made the city beef up its police force and rules and regulations to keep everyone as safe as possible. Once again we say goodbye to SXSW and I personally can't wait to go back to my regular routine and enjoy the city without all of the other people here vising. |
