Once again we are saying goodbye to SXSW. The city was swarmed with a lot of people from many different counties. The people watching in Austin was better than watching people in Vegas! It can be hard on the locals as most of our treasured local spots are overrun with people and it makes it uncomfortable for us to do our usual thing. Then you have the bands playing until all hours of the night and most of the time in Austin you will find residential areas in the heart of the city so that music at all hours makes it difficult to get up and go to work the next morning.
As hard as all of that is for the locals we can't ignore the fact that the event brings in a ton of revenue! The local businesses have the biggest month and a lot of local shops depend on this event. The city is going the extra mile to make sure they have enough rules and regulations in place to make sure everyone stays safe. Last year a car driven by a drunk driver killed a person that was attending the event. This alone has made the city beef up its police force and rules and regulations to keep everyone as safe as possible.
Once again we say goodbye to SXSW and I personally can't wait to go back to my regular routine and enjoy the city without all of the other people here vising.
